  • Lost Dog
    We've been notified of a lost dog in the area of Lancer Park.  The dog is a fawn (tan) color male Pug that answers to the name of "Spanky".  He has been lost since last evening. If found, please contact 724-681-7444.

  • Lions Club Thanksgiving Basket Collections
    The Lions Club is collecting non-perishable food items for their annual Thanksgiving baskets to be given to those in need in the Washington Township & Bell Township areas.  Any donations may be dropped off at the Municipal Building.  There will be a box in the lobby for the non-perishable food items. 
  • Walker Road delays
    Starting Monday, December 1st and continuing on for several months, there will be periodic one way delays on Walker Road as CNX will be accessing well sites.  Wide loads will be escorted. 
  • Kunkle Park Restrooms to Close for the Season
    Beginning November 1, the restrooms at the park will be closed, along with all of the water fountains.  However, if a restroom is needed if you have your children at the playground, the restrooms in the Municipal Building (upstairs) main hall are available Monday-Friday from 9 am to 4 pm.
  • MedReturn Drug Collection
    Drop-off boxes for unwanted prescription medications are up and running at the Washington Township Police Department (M-F, 8 am to 3 pm) and other police departments in our area.  Other local participating police departments include Allegheny Township, Arnold, Avonmore, Lower Burrell, Murrysville, New Kensington, Upper Burrell, and Vandergrift.  Residents can bring any outdated or unwanted prescription or over-the-counter pills, inhalers, ointments, creams, sprays and pet medicines.  Medicines should be deposited in sealed bottles, bags or other containers; patient information can be...

  • Road Projects

    General Information for Paving projects :

    Expect 1 hour delay for "through roads". The road will always be open at the end of the day. Emergency vehicles will always have access.  In the event that the job scheduled is delayed due to weather, equipment breakdown, etc., anticipate work to begin on the following day.  The Township Public Works Director, Rick Huffman, will be on site 6:00-6:30 a.m. on paving day and will be available to answer any questions.


  • Township Weekly Enewsletter

    Residents may want to up-date their Email address with the Township to ensure they continue to receive their weekly E-News.  We have been receiving "undeliverable messages" for some of the residents either due to their change of Email address or due to a change that was made on our system.

  • Washington Township/Bell Township Lion's Club

    If interested in helping your local community, join the Lion's Club.  For more information please contact John Doyle at 724-727-2518.  Lion's brooms are available at the Municipal Building. 

  • Public Works Tree Trimming

    The Township Public Works Department will be starting tree and shrub trimming.  Tree limbs or shrubs, which hang into the right-of-way or are in the area beyond the edges of the road and are less than 14 feet in height, become a hazard and cause damage to buses and trucks, and also intereferes with proper snow removal. 

    The Public Works Department would greatly appreciate if all residents would trim their trees in this area.

  • Township Residents Needing Clean Fill

    Please contact the Township if you would like to receive clean fill. The Township has various projects where we will have clean fill that we need to dispose of. If interested, contact us at 724-727-3515 and we can make arrangements with you.

  • Police Department

    Please be aware that the Police Department is on Facebook and Nixle (Nixle.org).  Residents are encouraged to visit these free sites.  If you notice any suspicious activity in your neighborhood, do not hesitate to contact 911. 

  • Washington Township Fire Hall

    The VNA Community Services is offering blood pressure clinics monthly at the Washington Township Fire Hall, 4078 Route 66, Apollo, PA from 11:30 a.m. to noon on the second Wednesday of the month.  Senior Citizens covered dish luncheon will also be held at noon.  Please bring covered dish and table service.
